Tuesday 23rd & Wednesday 24th June Days 36 & 37

Tuesday 23rd Day 36
This could be even shorter than yesterday’s as there wasn’t a lot done, after getting Glo ready for departure we went for a walk along the beach to collect some more large and small pebbles for Sharon, this isn’t a quick job as we are very particular about the ones we collect, we try and find ones with no blemishes, interesting colours and if possible ones that have interesting markings, there is a lot too this pebble collecting business, if we collect anymore we Glo will probably be over weight. Pebbles stored, we set off for our first destination of Dundalk, after we found a parking space we headed into the town and guess what, it was a town with shops and even a Pennymani it’s a Primani but spelt differently. We stopped off for lunch, a club sandwich and a bowl of chips to share, it’s was a town and we have ticked been there box, then we headed a whole 30 minutes down the road to tonight’s stopover which was a small harbour with nothing to do but sit and chill, well it wasn’t really chill as it was about 30°c we are trying to catch up with the rest of you which we haven’t done before on this trip, it’s a bit of a shock as we are now trying to keep Glo’s interior cool rather than trying to get it warm, guess what that was it, this is so short I may make this a two day blog.

Wednesday 24th June Day 37
Yes I decided to make this a two day event and now I am wondering wether to make it a trio as today’s didn’t have a lot of content either, Barb is going to Powerscourt Gardens tomorrow which is apparently the 3rd Best garden in the world and we need to get closer to it so that she can have an early start as apparently there is 47 acres of it, guess I won’t be seeing her for a while. We also needed to stay on a site tonight to do things that Glo needs doing. There was not a lot of sites to choose from in the Dublin area without paying over 50 quid not euros plus €2 for showers and it didn’t look that good, I guess it’s a case of Location, location, location so I am going to blame Kirsty and Phil, but stuff the location lark it is just theft. I found one that was a bit further away but at a reasonable price, when I phoned to see if they had space it was obvious we were back in Ireland, hi have you got space for a campervan and how much is it, yes got one €35, ok can I book one then, yep of course what name is it, it’s Paul, ok see you tomorrow, simples. Then all we had to do was get there, totally unlike us we voted for the quicker route which included using toll roads, time warp to the campsite, said hello paid and told to go wherever we wanted, we chose a grass pitch hedged off at both sides and at the top of the hill overlooking the sea or is one ocean, not sure but they are both water and there is a lot of it. After some sitting out in the sun we went for a walk down to the beach that belongs to the caravan site, well when I say walk it was actually clambering down 400 steps of irregular sizes and heights, if you were going down there for a while, you would take a packed lunch. After a walk along the beach and a paddle to above the knee in the crystal clear water, make that the cold crystal clear water, we made the ascent up the stairs back to Glo for some more sitting out in the sunshine.
