Highland Games & A Bit More Road Trip
We are off on a road trip to our much loved Scotland, the trip will start on the 2nd September and for the first time we will be going to the the Highland Games but not just any old games, we are going to the Braemar Gathering which the website says that "For almost 200 years, the Braemar Gathering has been a highlight of the sporting calendar in Scotland. Nestled beneath bucolic, heather-strewn mountains, it is the most prominent and well-attended Highland games in the world, drawing vast crowds from across the globe." Now that's a bold statement and we hope that the games meet up with the words from the website, our tickets arrived last week and I was surprised that they came in a hand written envelope with an actual stamp on it, someone must have been busy as our ticket numbers are 1373 & 1374. Word must have got out that we will be attending as apparently the King and his other half will be attending, I will have to make sure that Glo gets a wash before meeting them, obviously we are not going to Scotland just for the games and the adventure has a couple of stops planned which is unusual for us, but after the planned stops we will be back in our usual lets turn left and see what happens and how long it will happen for as although its not going to be a mammoth trip, we haven't got a planned return date, turning left will point us in the direction of the beautiful Cairngorms and we will have to see what happens when we get there, we will keep in touch next week when we set off, don't miss it
